PvP players who bought the gem have no right to be angry. It's an item that is not supposd to work in pvp, the fact that it does is a bug. If they bought it without even checking this much info about it, it's their own fault. And if they did know about it, then they're knowingly abusing a bug to gain advantage in pvp.

No, Shocker confirmed twice when he added them in the donation shop that the gems will proc in arena until the next phase, don't make me search the posts.

no that wouldnt solve things , because even if 100% of the population had them it stil wouldnt be fair , because of class diferences

some classes and specs benefit much more than others , some dont even benefit that much

only way to make it fair is to disable them , thats the conclusion Blizzard ended up at.

Anyways this kinda got out of hand , when even HEALERS started getting tanks metas , but the decision will probably not change , and if it doesnt .. well just try to bear this arena season i guess..

Can someone please let me know with the current progression , if the staff chooses not do anything about the gems ( its their right i guess ) , when will they be disabled? when prideful season comes? when that would be? im stil fairly new here and i´ve been told we just got grievous gear so , im guessing not anytime soon then? Thank you! =)

I'd like to share my thought about this topic also...

Basicly, I played some mop during this time and what happened was that the gem was to be inserted in a 502+ ilvl item(it had a requirement).

However at that time best available pvp gear was tyrannical (496) so you had a choice, either work your way up and grind the gem which you will shove into a PvE helm, or just grind rating and get the tyrannical meta which was better anyways in that patch.

On this server we gained 522 PvP gear which enabled us to use the meta gems (by that time on Blizz the PvE meta was either disabled or significantly nerfed)

For the donor point of view, I also donated to this server for the same meta gem you people used and in my oppinion it doesn't have a place in PvP as its discustingly ridiculous and make it extremly unfair to people that don't have it). It's in fact so discusting that you can lose shitton of arenas just becoz you chose not to donate or simply dont have the money.
I also realise that this is a private server and that donations are a huge part of the income but I feel you should try some arenas or PvP in general and maybe get a sence of how awful it feels running without this gem.
For last I'd like to point out that ATLEAST 80% of the top 100 rated players would never go for this gem or even bother obtaining it if the questline was scripted(don't get salty this is just pseudo-statistic) due to their either lack of a raiding guild or just lack of will to raid or invest time in it.

And as my closer,
Its called a PvE meta gem for a reason.

They have noticed the effect of these legendary gems have on pvp and have disabled them for the pvp tournament, but they don't care enought to do something about them outside of the tournament.
"We don't do custom fixes like disableing them in arenas"...just leave them like this since it's more blizzlike.
"We are the beat server because we know what the player wants". I have not seen a single player wanting to keep them enabled in arenas. Even the ones that have the legendary gema want them to be disabled...but we think we want them disabled, but we dont.

Legendary Meta-Gems should not exist in PVP. Blizz disabled them in PVP areas so there is no PVE influence in the PVP world.
