Artifact Knowledge Mechanics. My suggestion is simple, add atleast 2 of the 3 mechanics on release. (they are all 3 blizzlike and 7.1.5 content i do not count pre/post changes to the AK system in this suggestion)

Vendor mechanic: Vendor sells Artifact research notes, for 500x Rescourcess per note. This is capped at 15 total artifact knowledge levels on your char. (important it's not capped at 15 purches, but capped at your chars artifact knowledge level)

Compendium mechanic: The vendor sells 4 compendiums, each given X amount of artifact knowledge level, Comp. I gives you artifact knowledge level 5 and req. level 10 artifact knowledge to buy. Comp. II gives you artifact knowledge level 10 and req. level 15 to buy, Comp. III gives artifact knowledge 15 and req. level 20 to buy, and last Comp. IV gives artifact level 20, and req. level 25 to buy. Now what this means, is that every compendium is BoA (Bind on account) which means you buy on your main, and send the respective compendium to your alt, and they instantly gets the level of the compendium. (important, the compendiums is not + artifact knowledge levels, they override whatever level you had prev. so if level 3 and buys the level 10 one, you do not get level 13, but insted level 10.)

Time mechanic: The ingame artifact research notes that you buy for 500 rescourcess, with a 5 days complete duration, has a lowered duration on the blizzard realms, this is based on the time that the server was on, after 1 month of the release blizzard lowered the timer 4 days, down from 5 days. (it can be tricky to see, since when you start a research it will go down to 4 days, after the first second, because it does not show mins. and seconds on the timer, but if you start one and look it is 4 days 23 mins and 50 some seconds but shows only 4 days remaining)

Now as i started, i will highly suggest that you implement vendor & time mechanics, on release... compendiums is only for alt's and is not as crucial to the start of a server as the other two.

Some arguments for why it should be added: there are breakpoints in your artifact wepon system, where you will have to have an artifact knowledge level at certain levels before you can move on with your wepon, i can garuentee you that no one will go higher than artifact level 22 before they gain atleast AK 6, that does not sound that bad? but then at artifact level 26, you have your next big jump, then you start needed 100.000+ artifact power per level, how much you get from a mythic dungeon last boss with AK 15? 5700 AP... that's not much, and now imagine if you have only AK 10, thats 1700 AP... now getting artifact levels is really hard. Even with artifact knowledge 25, you need 1.9mil for paragon traits, (each trait increases in price with 5% per level untill 54) the argument was that if it was implemented at start there would be no grind, don't you worry... the grind will be there you could give people instant 25 AK and they would still grind for months if they arent no-lifers.

Artifact knowledge is very much a core thing in legion, definitely implement it before launch.

What Muistaax said: it's not really a custom thing for us to implement, therefore it's not really a matter of a suggestion. This is a core mechanic that must and will be implemented soon -

glad to hear that, i only made the suggestion because every other information about this said that there would not be this mechanic on release... so wanted to put in a word to why it should be -
