Hello, this is gonna be a post about the many different way to achive gear and what their ilvls is (should be) and it's gonna be a quite long post, and it may or may not be information you already have, or used to make a decission on how to make things, but i am making this, just in case anything was missed, or giving you guys a new thought, based on the information given in a new form. If you read all of this, and find no new information, or nothing was usefull to the admins/devs, i apolegize for wasting your time -

PvP: The PvP reward system for ranked is quite simple, and with you guys starting off at Season1 i would presume (7.1.5 was season2 on retail) that would give you a scaling from 840->880 gear, on the weekly drop at 10 wins (3 for RBG) in all brackets. i will link to a charts of the ratings vs ilvl drops. Now this will is the same ilvl gear you will recive from downing a boss in Emerald Nightmare mythic, and i am not a guy who likes to limit the output of gear, but i can see how making a cap on the ilvl untill the PvE content comes out that matches the same rewards as the PvP ones, would be a good idea, so it wont force your player base to focus on 1 side of the game.

This being said, you have talked and shown in promotion video's that you have made mythic+ system, now this will give you 865 ilvl max as base rewards from 1-15 on 7.1.5 there was updates to the reward system later on, to scale with the new PvE content that was released, but will go from what content will be out there.

Now you have WQ's, they had a cap from 7.0.3->7.2 to be capped at 845ilvl, as a base cap and was changed to 865 in 7.2 (this is not a great way to gear, it's shit - )so ill skip this rather quickly, but you can be lucky.

Forged system, this is really important for Legion, and pretty much decides what ilvl everyone will be running around at, you would think raid and top end PvP would decided that but no, this system is a prox 35% to give you +5 ilvls, and can upgrade a single item to +75ivls, as a max, this can happen to any gear that you recive or drop. What you guys decide to cap this at, is gonna depend really what you need to do about your PvP rewards, if you decide to go with season1 rewards on ranked IE 880max, you can't limit the forged ilvl cap to 865. But if you decide to go all out and have 910ilvl cap as it was in 7.1.5 you will give a lot more option to gearing PvE wise.

This being said, you could also do the otherway around, and cap the ilvl to 865 via forged, mythic+ but insted implement the weekly rewards from Mythic+, at that time it was capped at 880 just like the PvP.

So it really depends if you guys want to go all out on the RNG, or cater to Pro's. There is no doubt not everyone will be doing mythic+10/11/12++ or 2.4k+ PvP in ranked, so if you go with low ilvl cap on forged, you will have few players with max gear, and they deserve that (but that's not how blizz made legion, - ) or you can go into the spirit of blizzard, and go nutts on the ilvl forged cap, so everyone has a chance to get max ilvl gear.

What i would like to see is:
PvP season1 rewards blizzlike
Mythic+ fully scaled + weekly rewards
WQ's correctly capped at 845
Forged system capped at 865 (for the majority of 7.1.5 release)

yeah..
I was thinking about this aspect of the game the other day ..
There are two issues that could appear..
SO you either implement S2 gear that could go to ilvl 895 or something if you get gladiator elite - 2400+ rating . Then this gear would be way better than what players could get from pve at first.
Or you get S1 gear from pvp but then the problem is that all the pvp templates and some spell multipliers are balanced around full S2 gear.. For examples some classes - especially melee classes who have low % of primary stats .. they reach their true potential and become truly viable in arena only after 880 or so ilvl

Base ilvl of WQ's is capped at 845 from 7.0 -> 7.1.5 and is increased in 7.2 to 865. what you are talking about is the forged system, that upgrades base ilvl of an item. not the same thing. there is base ilvl caps, and then there is the forged system. but even the forged system has an item level cap. that is increased on the release of mythic raid contents.
