Read the spell again it doesn't say that you are immune to spells or incoming damage .

The tooltip doesn't explain completely how the spell works, but here you can see a comment on wowhead from patch 7.1 explaining what it does.

For optimal usage, it's good to understand precisely how this skill works, and how it interacts with other skills.

On key press, it'll cause AoE damage around your initial position and eject player character into air. This does not count as using finishing move, but does consume combo points and triggers cooldown.

While in air, you can't be CCed, but also can't use any (off-GCD) ability. Hang time is set at around 1 second, and once it ends you will land near your target, regardless of distance. Bigger distance does not prolong "air phase", you just leap very quickly.

On landing you'll use specified ability with your combo points, with 50% increased damage.

Because only landing triggers "finishing move" procs, it's good to remember it will happen after delay, and numerous things can happen over that second:
- Alacrity can lose stacks
- Death from Above will trigger it's cooldown, allowing landing finisher to trigger True Bearing, to allow for Death from Above to reduce it's own cooldown.
- Enemy you're targeting will die, resulting in finisher not occuring at all.
- Enemy will quickly teleport to danger zone, taking you with it.

Can confirm its bugged and it doesnt make rogue immune to neither cc nor dmg druing that 0.5-0.75 sec animation which it should...

Also there is weird positioning bug with DFA, when going down it somehow turns your char and camera, and you land in the target hitbox with your back instead of face, very uncomfortable to play.

Saying that you know it should make you immune is not enough, if you want me to confirm this I need a video from retail where we can see that rogue is immune during DFA, I'll leave this open for 1 more day, then I'll close the topic

So finding video doing exactly that would be near impossible and take like 10 days of work... But actual class mod can log retail(or if he was actually ever playing rogue on retail he would know it anyway) or if that is too hard(but its not) just type Death from above wowhead in google then click on first page that pops up, then go to comments section and voila!!!!
But yes i know that requires over 9000 iq so ill do it myself....

and many many more... even tho im pvp player and that ability is kinda never used in pvp i still had to comment here when i see injustice here on bug section forum!(how is anyone playing pserver going to give you proof of something that cant be found on any videos on internet???? if they had retail acc like they would ever log here and try to teach mods about their classes lel)

Also regarding DFA ,when u are in room who has a lower ceiling(whatever is called) you will go up and down very fast and u cant combo dfa+shadow dance..

So just to point out since some people dont understand how this works. The reason you provide proof is because most of the developers are not rogue experts and they need to see how something should work in order for them to script it. A comment from one single player on wowhead is not sufficient proof since anyone could go there and say pretty much anything. I understand you are frustrated but please refrain from making assumptions about me and simply follow the bug report topic model.

Talent is never played in pvp actually so finding acutal video proof is near impossible if you dont log retail and record it yourself, its not one comment on wowhead more like 10 comments all with 10-15+ upvotes so i dont think ppl post on wowhead bs replys just to troll FREAKZ class mods and devs...

it has another problem that dfa actually dont do damage(not always but some times) i mean dfa doesnt work but also it goes CD and never uses evis after the jump happened to me many times not only in BG but also in dungeons more specifically i was in karazhan 15 and i missed so many DFAs u go mid air and it never uses evisc

the dmg bug is already confirmed and you are not immune to dmg during DFA if you want the bug to be confirmed u need good prof from retail .

I've been trying to find proof from 7.1 to 7.3 patches but I can't find good videos with DfA demostrating it's immune to CC.

Now I want to correct one part of my report:

I said it should make the caster immune to incoming damage (referring to 7.2.5 freakz's patch which used to make us immune to incoming damage and also immune to bosses / npc spells, which was very good to cheese mechanics).

But doing some research I couldn't find a single video in raids or m+ using DfA for this porpouse or any comment either on forums.

So I really believe this was not blizzlike and caster should be only immune to CC during the animation.

What I am able to find is DfA being immune to CC on a WoD patch pvp video and I can give you a decent proof (I dont think DfA got a single change from WoD to Legion on this subject, correct me if I'm wrong).

Update: Finally found a video of DfA being immune to Blind on a 7.2.5 patch, editing report right now.

https://wow.gamepedia.com/Death_from_Above_(rogue_ability) on this link u have the changelogs of DFA from retail wow that this spell suffered no changes to its CC imunity, therefore its still there.
Now its really clear that this developer who literarlly has a rogue insignia with 40d played on a rogue char has no clue how his class works .
