Hello mate. First of all, you might know Affliction requires a 505-509 Ilvl at this moment to have a good dps. There are some good guides around the internet that might help you, but, for the moment, if you have a low gear / ilvl you should focus on destruction because it don't requires a "imba" gear to get a good dps (above 120k). Affliction main stat after hit (15%) is haste followed by mastery, then crit. To achive a nice dps you should play at the biggest haste breakpoint which is around 9778 haste. You can achive this, when you are above 505 item level.


I will try to make a "Affliction for Dummies" even tho I don't know very well this specialisation. I will note my inspiration sources of course because it will contain some tips from other forums but my oppionions regarding this specialisation too.

Casmet, you can try affliction right now, I heard it does a massive damage Its working as intended at this moment!

Don't try 9778 haste breakpoint at 505 ilvl you lose too much mastery which even if the haste is better than mastery it's only good at breakpoints, so if you don't have mastery equals no damage on dots and no damage on malefic grasp which is the bread and butter you should go to 6740 ish i think at this ilvl and try 9778 at 520+

what seyrox said is pretty true dont lose mastery to get more tick s on the dots u need them to be powerfull to be also... with the TOT gear that i have seen reaching 9k haste break point is not goin to be a problem so bare with destro for a while and then go affliction.

Hey guys, I have the following stats 15% hit 101% mastery and 9816 haste crit 18.69%. Do i need to make any changes ?

If you want to play affliction and you already have that haste, without procs, it's ok.
That mastery tho 101% Jesus.
Post a screen with your dps, I'm curious about it.

I gave it a try yesterday, never played a such complicated spec and the mana ... How do you even fight after 2min fight because on a dummy i get oom very fast.

Which pet are you guys using for GoSupr? imp or shivarra

Depending on the encounter, but Imp is superior in most cases by far. However I strongly recommend GoSAC unless you are absolutely comfortable controlling your pet.
