Windows 10 Update / Read-only cant be removed due the update

"Read only" is a property that only applies to files inside folders, folders themselves can't be or not be read only, this is why you see a filled out box instead of either an empty box or a tick. This filled out box is a default state that only exists for folders, you can only put a tick or an empty box to folders to change all the files inside them, but the folder itself will show the filled box again after. If you check the files inside the folder you'll see that none of them are set to read only.

yes I checked all the files inside the folder are not read only. I'm just so frustrated can't you for good measure share your copy as well? or at least your copy without your personal stuff like interface and wtf folder. I'm out of ideas. really I am.

But how do you expect me to do that? The client has a total size of nearly 45 GB, uploading that would easily take 30+ hours, and my connection auto-DCs every 24 hours. I don't see a possible way of doing it.

I guessed as much haha. when did you download the client from the site? if you try downloading it now does it also only show 40GB space on the torrent client? maybe something messed the torrent up in recent days?

The packed size of the torrent is 40 GB, unpacked it's 43.

I last downloaded it in mid July.

The torrent was never changed since its initial upload in December 2018. It's still exactly the same as it's always been.

idk what it is then. my data folder stays 40 gb while I believe it's supposed to go to like 42 GB I've tried Qbittorrent, Utorrent, bittorrent.. I get less crashes on my 7.1.5 that partially updated than on the one from the site and have 42 data.xxx files vs 39 on the site client so I really have no idea what's going on.

at this point I'm ready to quit

I got it working. Don't ask me how or why but the version I downloaded from the freakz site just randomly started working now.
