ED : lol , already saw a difference , more than 60 fps even when nothing big happening is a lot for me

What's that "old-***" graphic card? Is it compatibile with DirectX 11?

It's old-*** alright, but it sure beats a 7300 LE. Well, it's not my graphics card that sucks, it's the motherboard. I tried out my card on a friend's PC which had a slightly slower CPU but otherwise the same amount of RAM. I managed to get 30 FPS in a highly populated zone in OG and SW. It's amazing how much PCI-E x16 pulls ahead of PCI-E x4. Yes, I know, roughly 4 times slower performance on my side, but still.

Just make sure you know your hardware well. No point in trying this tutorial on old GPUs (<DX10) and windows 7. It only changes your game settings every time you start playing. And believe me, old GPUs with little video RAM CAN NOT perform better, because you would be limmited by the frame buffer, not the accelerator.

shhnedo, do you have a manual that came with your motherboard? You could do a DIY fix to get the full x16 bandwith.

Bringing this topic back to life. I'm bound to try this method again, since i'm going to buy a new video card tomorrow(i hope).
And about the DIY suggestion, i don't believe it will work. The chipset of the motherboard itself doesn't provide the full 16 lanes for the slot and i don't think DIY methods could give me those.

P.S. This should be made sticky.

=================================================================

Small update:
I bought an ASUS GeForce GT610-SL-1GD3-L. I know it's not much and it's a freaking DDR3 retard, but I'm essentially putting it in an oldass 2006 PC and I didn't want to spend more than 40 euros on a GPU(plus i'm limmited by the PSU aswell).
I've just reinstalled Windows 7, drivers and shit. I'll be testing soon so... results incoming in a couple of hours.

=================================================================

It worked.

Hello there,pretty nice topic i'd say.

I tried the first steps but didn't really help,since i have no clue about such stuff i'm not sure if it's because im with windows XP,i tried the next step with the config file after the first post and it kinda changed some stuff ingame and actually improved my fps a bit to like 45-55 in arenas (without skype) and like 30-35 i think with skype.Maybe i did something wrong or maybe it's just because my pc is way too shit,so i want to bring you a screenshot from Tech Power up GPU-Z and ask you if there is some way to improve my fps a bit more.I heard it's possible by closing some processes and some other ways as well,or maybe by something from this topic.

Here is the screenshot Click Here

Intel IGPUs are known to suck horribly at any DirectX-related task, especially old ones. Try running the game using OpenGL by simply replacing the -d3d11 switch with -opengl

Here are a few other switches you can try

I changed it to -opengl but it actually became worse my fps dropped alot and some of the graphics actually increased (visual - custom) and the graphic *** a bit as you can see @the middle of my drake it looks like minecraft lol -

Screenshot

Btw would be great if you explain a bit what i can do with these list of command line switches - I literally have no clue how to deal with that kind of stuff,ty in advance

DAT oldass 90nm technology... I don't think there's much you could do on the software side to increase FPS. It's time for an upgrade. Say for example, buy a video card. Something like a GTX750.

Y'all should consider this page. Soon there'll be no driver support for oldass GPUs.

Hi,

535 days since last post according to the warning i just recieved for wanting to post here but still i wanted to know if this is still a viable solution to get a better framerate, it turns out my notebook isn't as strong as i would thought and it gives me trouble raiding in 25 man format.

Thanks for any answers, helpful or not.
