WoW Freakz spell link: --
Bug description: I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but on my alts, haste (either from gear, skills, talent effects, etc.) decreases my gcd, but not on my rogue. In my rogue, no matter what amount of haste i have or effects (like Alacrity, etc..), my gcd is always the same (1s). I have screenshots, but i wanna make sure that's a bug or if somehow the class behaves differently with haste.

I didn't really understand what the guy in the first post tried to prove and how did he prove it. He just posted the gcd of a monk using an skill, how is that verifying if haste is affecting the gcd or not?

I got from the post that energy classes don't reduce gcd by haste, is that it? And if it's like that, what was "fixed"?

It doesnt lower your GCD because it shouldnt. it was bugged before but fixed recently, Its blizzlike for classes that use energy as resource, Still needs to be fixed for ferals i think

Ahh ok, thanks!

Just out of curiosity.. why it doesn't work like that for energy classes? What's the reason?

Because other classes have base GCD 1,5 sec and it is affected by haste down to 0.75 sec with 100% haste to make gameplay more fluid and classes that use energy like rogues have already pretty low gcd (1 sec) and makes not sense to make it further lower by haste

Here you see feral druid log with timestamps during bloodlust (30%haste buff), First 3 shreds have 1 sec gcd between each another.
If you think this druid is bad for missing GCDs, you can check on warcraftlogs , he is doing top damage in Mythic Antorus runs with 3m+ dps at all fights so we can safely say that his rotation is close to perfect

Because original GCD for everyone else is 1.5 sec. Energy classes get a fixed 1 sec GCD that requires no haste to get to that break point. While other non energy classes need to stack high amount of haste to get to 1 sec. If they stack even more of it they can go down to 0.75 sec GCD. Since energy classes already have their GCD lowered by 0.5 sec absolutely for free. Their GCD doesn't benefit from haste.

Which means you can stack other stats to gain more damage instead of haste if you are an energy class. Mastery, Crit or Versatility.

Well, thanks, but that's just repeating the description of the situation xD, my question is WHY it is like that for energy classes? WHY just don't they work like any other class (starting at 1.5 gcd and going down based on haste)?

You asking that question on wrong website, go to blizzard forum and ask them, they made that decision,

Well, i thought that maybe there was some known reason to make energy classes different to the rest, maybe some thing with the energy or idk.

Well, thanks anyway, you can close the topic.
